Dear Mr. Li,

I'm very sorry that I can't follow the class to go on a trip next week. I have to ask for a sick leave because I was caught in the heavy rain on my way back home yesterday. When I felt uncomfortable, my mother took me to the hospital. The doctor there took my temperature and told me I got a high fever. So the doctor asked me to have a good rest at home and have some medicine.

I hope my classmates will have a good time while travelling. What a pity I can't go with you.
