One thing most people know about Einstein is that he was a poor student in school, and may have had difficulty in reading. It turns out that this is nowhere near true. By the age of 13 he was reading advanced physics texts, and by the age of 15 he had read Darwin’s On the Origin of Species.
This widespread belief about his school grades may come from two areas: confusion about his school’s grading system, and his “failure”in his college exams. His father wanted him to work on a technical field, but Einstein was more interested in theory. Also, the test was given in French, a language which he was not especially good at. Einstein at last went to the school after finishing his studies at the Aargau Cantonal School.

I began working in journalism when I was eight. It was my mother’s idea. She wanted me to “make something” of myself, and decided I had better start young if I was to have any chance of keeping up with the competition.
